Flight Tracking Guide

1. Visit Flight Aware Harford County Airport and observe the flights listed under both arrival and departure columns.
2. Select a flight of interest by its aircraft N number under the Ident column.
3. Access the View Track Log page for detailed flight information.
4. Compare flight details to identify the time, altitude, latitude, and longitude of your observation.
5. Open an Excel spreadsheet and enter the header information from the View Track Log in the first row.
6. Copy the information from the View Track Log table and paste it into the Excel spreadsheet. Save and close the file after naming it appropriately.
7. Launch Google My Maps, select Create New Map, and then Import to upload the Excel file you saved. You'll need to use your Google Account.
8. After uploading, ensure latitude and longitude are correctly identified and proceed with the import process.
9. Choose a column as a label for your place markers and complete the import by selecting Finish.
10. Optional: To view in Google Earth, select the three vertical dots and choose View in Google Earth.
11. Measure the distance between your observation point and the flight details to determine proximity.
